What kind of journal entries are supported?

Text (including emojis) and pictures. We don't currently handle other types (e.g. videos, gifs) at the moment.

What kind of messaging apps do you support?

Right now we only support texting (SMS) for US numbers. In the future we'd like to support numbers from other countries as well as more messaging platforms.

Where can I get the app?

Right now just on iOS (Apple devices). We'd like to bring it to Android and the web as well, but want to make sure the experience is great on iOS first.

Where are my entries stored?

Your entries are stored securely on our server where they are encrypted (e.g. "today was great" becomes "11as8asdfl") as well as on your device where we download your entries locally so you can access them offline. Check our our privacy policy for more details on how and what we're storing and let us know if you have any questions!

Can I backup my entries?

We backup your entries on our server but don't yet support backup to additional services. Feel free to reach out to us at support@journalbotapp.com if you want your entries exported and we can send them to you in whatever format you need.

How much does JournalBot cost?

JournalBot is free for the first 14 days and then after that, our launch pricing is $2.99 a month or $29.99 a year. It's likely that we iterate on this pricing model over time as we develop more features and learn about the costs of the business.

Why does JournalBot cost money?

There are costs associated with running the product, so it's neccessary for us to charge more than it costs to run it. Given the costs of running JournalBot per user and the cut that Apple takes, $2.99/mo is really the bare minimum we can charge to cover costs. By supporting JournalBot you are supporting a small team that wants to continue working on JournalBot to realize it's ultimate potential. We appreciate your support!
